Vision

My vision is to raise my daughters in a world where women are empowered in birth and in motherhood!

Mission

To work with families preparing for birth, helping them go from clueless and fearful to confident and calm, allowing them to make decisions that truly feel right for them and their babies.

Values

Assertive: Encouraging you to ask questions, set boundaries and articulate your wants, needs and desires - this is about doing birth on your terms!

Realistic: Positive without the sugar coating - preparing you to go into birth fully believing in what you are about to do, but with your eyes wide open to any obstacles you may face!

Honest: Providing a safe space for open and honest conversation!

Open Minded: Non-judgemental support for you and your choices - because this is all about you!

Activism

I believe activism is a fundamental aspect of birth work and for me this looks like challenging the status quo - both through official channels like the Maternity Voices Partnership, raising awareness and helping others understand the barriers they may face and the choices they have. And importantly, continuing to educate myself - absorbing knowledge and wisdom as part of a collective movement of birth workers with a shared aim of improving birth experiences and short and long term health implications for mothers, babies and families.
